We are in China now! After about 30 hours of flight time, we made it to Beijing about 11:00 pm last night. We've had a great day of touring Beijing today. We went to Tienanmen Square, the Forbidden City, the site of the 2008 Olympics, and we climbed the Great Wall. Did I just say we climbed the Great Wall? It still doesn't seem real that we are actually here. We have a great group of people we are traveling with in China.
Tomorrow is the day we have been waiting for for years. It's "gotcha day" for Julianna! We'll fly to Nanchang tomorrow, and she should be in our arms tomorrow afternoon around 3:00 or 4:00 pm China time or 2:00-3:00 am Central time (Sunday). Please continue to pray that she'll have an easy transition and will bond with each of us. Please pray that this won't be too traumatic, and that we can calm any fears that she has. Below are some pictures of the day and a look at some of the things we did.

I am so happy and excited for you. I am looking forward to seeing your gotcha day pictures. I trust all goes well and that bonding is great.
ReplyDeleteSo happy that you made it safely and are having a good time! Oh my, it's just a matter of hours now! It's 12:30 pm in Alabama which means it's around 1:30 am in China...I wonder if you are too excited to sleep! Praying for an easy transition for all three of you tomorrow, but especially for Julianna. I hope Gotcha Day is everything you've always dreamed it would be and more. I can't believe that Julianna will be with you when we wake up in the morning!

I know you guys are really sweating the bonding thing and how shw will react when she meets you.I am prqaying that it goes smoothly for you but trst me, even if it doesn't she won't take long to come around. Molly wouldn't even let rob hold her in china and he just stayed calm and continued to find ways to play and feed her. Now she is daddys little girl and comes running when he comes home from work.I don't know who yur guide is, but on the chance it is david, tell him the barries say hello. Enjoy the rest of your trip. Things get fun from here on out.
ReplyDeleteWe are praying for you guys! I was so anxious and praying through the night, about 1:30 am - Alabama time - God gave me such a peace; I know His arms are around you all and bonding your family tightly knit together with His love! Blessings, The Boyds
